In short: this site uses no cookies, does not track you, and sells nothing to anyone. I measure or store two things: aggregate visitor statistics, and, if you subscribe, your email address.

Visitor statistics
Visits are counted by GoatCounter. It uses no cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not follow you across pages or days. I only see aggregate numbers: how many people viewed which page, where they came from (the referring site), which browser and screen size they used, and which country they were in. None of this identifies you.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). I want to know which pieces reach readers.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to notifications, your email address is stored by Buttondown, which sends the emails. I only use it to tell you when something new is published. I do not share it and I do not send advertising.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe any time with the link at the bottom of each email, or write to me and I will delete your address. Buttondown is a US provider, so the data may be stored outside the European Union.
Hosting
The site is served by Rackhost Zrt. (Hungary). Like every web server, theirs keep technical logs (IP address, time, requested URL) for operations and security. The hosting provider handles these under its own rules; I do not use them to identify visitors.
What I don't do
- No cookies and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to ask permission for.
- Fonts and scripts are served from this site, not from third parties.
- No embedded social media buttons, videos or ads.
Your rights
You can ask me what data I hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. If you feel your rights have been violated, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (naih.hu).
